I was having problems with the game so I took it off the computer.
When I was putting all the games back on I got to Free Time and
started having problems. Disc 1 gets about 2% in when it says there's
a problem with the dic. I have tried email EA Games about this and I
just get this:

That's the WHOLE email.

Would it be easier to buy the disc or can they replace it?

Great - that's about par for the course with EAxis. This fault is often to
do with a problem with the disk. Something prevents it from spinning at the
right speed so the driver can read it.

What that thing is can be as simple as a small speck of dust. So start by
cleaning the disk. Use a lint-free cloth and wipe from the centre outwards.

If that doesn't help, you can try a manual installation. This always works
unless there really is something wrong with the disk (or you fail to follow
the instructions properly).

1. Go to the EA Games site (not the main Sims site)
2. Go to the Technical Help section
3. Search for manual installation
4. Several threads will pop up, choose the right one - if you are installing
FT, you need the FT thread

Go from there. It's not difficult but you do need to make sure you follow
the instructions properly.

I'm pretty sure that's a summary of one of the pages on their knowledge base
(I've typed it enough times, I can't remember where I got it from). I had
to install Nightlife manually for the same reason when I got the new
computer last year. Worked a treat.

Best wishes
